Raphaël Ortis - Né le 9 février 1975 à Genève, bassiste et compositeur, puise une inspiration sans cesse renouvelée aux sources de ses multiples appartenances musicales. Inspiré par la liberté de la musique improvisée autant que par la rigueur de l'écriture orchestrale, il choisi une démarche résolument tournée vers l'utilisation de l'instrument de manière non-conventionnelle.
Avec plus d'une vingtaine de disques et plusieurs tournées internationales, il se concentre principalement sur la musique improvisée, notamment avec le trio de post-jazz Plaistow et le duo Léon ainsi qu'avec l'Insub Meta Orchestra (IMO), grand orchestre d'improvisation libre et dirigé.
Il fait partie également le l'association Insubordinations qui organise une série de concerts mensuels.

Born in 1975 in Geneva, bass player and composer, draws an inspiration ceaselessly renewed to the sources of his multiple musical memberships. Inspired by the freedom of the improvised music as much as by the rigor of the orchestral writing, he chose an approach determinedly turned to the use of the instrument in a non conventional way.
He is a member of the jazz trio Plaistow, the 2 basses duet Léon, as well as the IMO (Insubordinations Meta Orchestra).
He is also a part of the Insubordinations association which organize a series of monthly concerts.
